Now in APC to deliver.
Yesterday, over 12, 000 members of APC in Anambra North Senatorial Zone led by the party's zonal chairman were at Osisioma Peace Lodge Umunya, the home of Dr Chike Obidigbo, Osisioma Igbo on a solidarity visit. The state chairman of the party, Barr Emeka Ibe with all the zonal leaders of APC in Anambra North also joined in the visit.
All APC members from the seven local govts in Anambra North were joined by APC members from Dunukofia and Awka North that made up the old Omambala union to the solidarity visit.
Another group that stormed Dr Obidigbo's Peace Lodge Umunya yesterday to drum support for his 2017 gubernatorial aspiration was the Omambala Youths from all the communities in the Omambala area of the state led by Ozo Simon Okafor.
The Anambra North APC presented Dr Chike Obidigbo to their members as the party's 2017 governorship aspirant from the zone. Presenting Dr Obidigbo to party members, the Anambra North APC zonal chairman, Chief Ubili stated that Dr Obidigbo was a man that has acceptability across the state and an asset to the zone. He urged ndi Anambra north APC that come 2017, the party will unseat Obiano at the poll. Chief Ubili commended Obidigbo whom he described as a worthy son of ndi Anambra north for joining the party at the centre and stated that with Osisioma Igbo and other well meaning ndi Anambra moving en masse into the party, 2017 will be a walk over for APC.
The Omabala Indigenous Youths Foundation, the umbrella body that shelters the entire youths from the Omabala region of Anambra state which is made up of the four local governments, Oyi, Anambra East, Anambra West and Ayamelum. The venue was Osisioma villa Umunya. The youths pledged their total support and loyalty to Dr Chike Obidigbo in his political ambition to become the next governor of Anambra state come 2017.
The youths also made him one of their grand patrons as a result of his commitment towards the welfare of the youths from the Omabala region and Anambra state as a whole. The youths who turned out in their thousands also presented him with an Eagle feather, a symbol of victory in the forth coming governorship in the state. They also praised him as the only governorship aspirant from Omabala region who sited an industry in the region "HARDIS and Dromedas" creating jobs for thousands of youths from the region and Anambra state as a whole. This and other qualities he has automatically qualify him as the best aspirant from the region, asking every sons and daughters from Omabala to give him their total support.
Addressing the crowd, the APC state chairman, Barr Emeka Ibe, appealed to all members of Osisioma Foundation who moved into the party with their leader, Dr Obidigbo to quickly go to their wards and get registered with the party as 2017 guber election may seem to be tough like that of 2015 presidential election, but that APC will carry the day. The state chairman who was impressed by the crowd that came to support Osisioma aspiration to govern the state, said APC is good to go and Correct the mistakes of 2013.
Welcoming the guests to his home, Dr Chike Obidigbo, Osisioma Igbo who could not hide his joy on the goodwill of the people of Anambra especially his brothers from Omambala and Anambra north went down the memory lane on his efforts to ensuring that power shifted to Anambra north for the first time in 2013. He narrated how he worked closely with his friend, the then governor, His Excellency Mr Peter Obi in getting support of other zones for power to shift to north. Osisoma Igbo, used the occasion to appeal to ndi South and Central to keep faith with this zoning initiative for political stability in the state and allow ndi north to complete their eight years.
He however, told his audience that the failure of the present APGA govt in the state has become a disappointment to the people of Anambra North and ndi Omambala in general. Dr Obidigbo therefore, promised that if elected he would redeem this embarrassing disappointment. He said joining APC was to ensure that ndigbo queue into politics at the centre where Nigeria project is discussed and our common resources shared. "It is time ndigbo come out of the shell of marginalisation and fight for inclusion in the Nigeria project, we can not hide somewhere shouting marginalisation when other zones are fighting for inclusion and getting their own share of the National cake", Dr Obidigbo concluded.
Earlier in his speech, Obidigbo thanked President Buhari for the ongoing reconstruction of the abandoned Enugu/Onitsha express road as well as Port Harcourt/Enugu express which were used as campaign promises by previous administrations and abandoned thereafter. He thanked APC members and Omambala Youths who visited him and promised to use his wealth of experience, contacts and structures in the state to give APC victory come 2017.
The high point of the occasion was the presentation of the symbol of APC, the BROOM to Dr Chike Obidigbo as APC governorship aspirant.
