A Gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of United Progressive Party (UPP), Hon. Chudi Offodile has resigned his membership of the party.
Briefing newsmen today at a press conference, Hon. Offodile said he cannot continue to associate with any group that is going against the ideals of the party which is to propagate Biafra and all it stands for.
While reacting on the outcome of last Saturday's primary election of the party, he said that the party defied a court order to adhere to the constitutions of the party, saying that authentic delegates were selected at ward level during their ward and local government congresses in line with article 10(4) of the party's constitution.
He wondered why the list of the delegates should be altered, saying it resulted in the uproar that claimed the life of late Uwakwe Mmaduabuchi .
Honourable Offodile added that he did not step down for any body during the primary election, rather that he left because he called for cancellation of the Congress on the grounds that the life of a Biafran has been lost, and deserved to be given respect, which fell on deaf ears.
Honourable Offodile therefore urged all his supporters and those who believe in Biafran ideology of freedom, equity and Justice to resign their membership of the party and await further directives.
