NYSC GRIEVES OVER LOSS OF CORPS MEMBERS IN NASARAWA STATE
The Management and staff of the National Youth Service Corps as well as serving Corps members nationwide mourn three of our compatriots, who died in Nasarawa State last Sunday.
Two of the deceased, Oguntola Wasiu Babatunde (NS/16B/4044) and Danjuma Jamil Salihu (NS/16B/0175), died as a result of drowning in a river at Assakio in Lafia East Development Area, where they had gone swimming.
The third deceased, Memunat Ahmad Yarwa (NS/16B/4280), died from complications during childbirth.
The entire NYSC family grieves over the loss of these heroes, especially coming when they were in their primes and contributing towards strengthening unity and national development.
They will continue to be remembered for their patriotic zeal, selflessness and dedication to the service of our fatherland.
May the Almighty God grant them eternal rest.
Meanwhile, the Management has sent officers to deliver condolence messages to the families.
We stand by them in solidarity and prayers in this moment of grief.
We also pray that God gives them the fortitude to bear the irreparable losses.
Management also wishes to use this medium to announce the release of another Corps member, Nwankpa Blessing, who was kidnapped in Nasarawa State.
Kelechi is in good health, and is being given all the necessary physical and psychological support.
We thank the Nasarawa State Police Command for effecting the rescue of the Corps member.
