The first yellow croakers fishing festival in Ningde City, southeast China’s Fujian Province, started on November 25. When the net was pulled out from the water, thousands of yellow croakers surfaced.
Ningde, known as the hometown of yellow croakers, is one of China's largest breeding centers.
The amount of yellow croakers produced was 118,000 tons in 2016, according to local government, accounting for more than 70 percent of the country's total, and the total output value of the industry is over ten billion yuan (approximately 1.5 billion US dollars).
According to the organizer, the fished yellow croakers will be delivered through a cold chain within 48 hours to the online booking consumers. The festival attracted traders and visitors from across the country.
