Former Actors Guild of Nigeria President, Ibinabo Fiberesima, visits IDP camp in Gombe State

Former president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima, recently paid a visit to the Internally Displaced Persons camp in Gombe State. The visit came amid her ongoing manslaughter trial.
The actress, who was absent at her appeal days ago, was spotted with IDP officials as she was being shown around the camp. Ibinabo was sentenced to five years in prison for reckless driving which resulted in the death of Dr Giwa Suraj in 2006. The car involved had belonged to popular 90s dancehall singer, Daniel Wilson, who was also held responsible for the death of the doctor. The actress was initially sentenced to seven years imprisonment with an option of a fine of N100,000. She paid fine.
However, her case was appealed by then Lagos state Attorney-General and commissioner of justice, Supo Sasore (SAN), who felt unsatisfied with the sentence and it was reduced to five years in prison with no option of fine. In 2006, Ibinabospent three months and three days in jail for the offence.









Now, free while she appeals her sentemce, Ibinabo was also spotted comforting the internally displaced women and children who fled from the reach of the dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram.
