Psalm 2
- 1
- Psalm 2
- 1
- Why do the nations conspire [1] and the peoples plot in vain?
- 2
- The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One. [2]
- 3
- "Let us break their chains," they say, "and throw off their fetters."
- 4
- The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.
- 5
- Then he rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
- 6
- "I have installed my King [3] on Zion, my holy hill."
- 7
- I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Son [4] ; today I have become your Father. [5]
- 8
- Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
- 9
- You will rule them with an iron scepter [6] ; you will dash them to pieces like pottery."
- 10
- Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth.
- 11
- Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling.
- 12
- Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him
Psalm 145

- Psalm 145 A psalm of praise. Of David.
- 1
- I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.
- 2
- Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.
- 3
- Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.
- 4
- One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts.
- 5
- They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. [2]
- 6
- They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds.
- 7
- They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
- 8
- The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
- 9
- The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
- 10
- All you have made will praise you, O LORD; your saints will extol you.
- 11
- They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might,
- 12
- so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
- 13
- Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made. [3]
- 14
- The LORD upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
- 15
- The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.
- 16
- You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
- 17
- The LORD is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made.
- 18
- The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
- 19
- He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.
- 20
- The LORD watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.
- 21
- My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.
Psalm 1
- 1
- Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
- 2
- But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
- 3
- He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
- 4
- Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
- 5
- Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
- 6
- For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

- 2
- Judah became God's sanctuary, Israel his dominion.
- 3
- The sea looked and fled, the Jordan turned back;
- 4
- the mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.
- 5
- Why was it, O sea, that you fled, O Jordan, that you turned back,
- 6
- you mountains, that you skipped like rams, you hills, like lambs?
- 7
- Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,
- 8
- who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water.
