Nigerian president Mohammadu Buhari flew to the United Arab Emirates last night from New York, were he was attending the ongoing Nuclear talks. According to statements from his office, the President will spend two months in the Gulf nation.
'You know the past ten months has been very very tough on the president. Aside from meeting an empty treasury, the President also had to deal with a systematic decay of everything that makes up this country. So where Nigerians are bothered about things not working right, or at all, the President spends all night thinking about solutions and this is why he needs a break,' the president's spokesperson said.
'Yes, you know the system is designed to cover for situations like this. The Vice President, who has been mandated to focus on the current energy crisis, will be in charge until the President's return,' the spokesperson added.
It is not known is the wife of the president travelled with him, but reports from the villa indicate that there is general relaxation of posture as civil servants look forward to 2 months of not needing to watch their slouch.
