Bauchi Durbar can be an International Festival - Lai Mohammed
The Minister for Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon. Lai Mohammed have mentioned that Bauchi is blessed with major Cultural and Tourism endowment that has captured the attention of the Federal Government.
Speaking with Gov. M. A. Abubakar in his office yesterday, the Minister mentioned that part of his discussions with UNESCO in Paris recently, was on how to make the unique Bauchi Durbar an International Festival. He also said that the Federal Government will partner with Bauchi state to position and market the Yankari Games Reserve to the International Community. He commended the Governor for the good job he is doing to promote tourism and culture in the state, noting that asides revenue generation, the #ExploreBauchi Model is a uniting factor.
Governor M. A. Abubakar on his part thanked the Minister, and said that the great people of Bauchi are very hospitable. He said Tourism is important to his administration and Bauchi has hidden treasures to show the world. He also intimated the Minister on several Tourism Projects his administration has done and the successes recorded so far. He expressed his willingness to work with the Minister and the Federal government in areas of mutual interest to uplift the people of the state.
