Ekwunife vs Umeh
Today's outing didnt look good for Ekwunife.
The Supreme Court Abuja has adjourned indefinitely the appeal filed by Ekwunife seeking the revalidation of her mandate which was annulled by the Enugu Appeal Court.
The Lordships almost struck the case out if not for the gallant defense of Ekwunife's lawyer, Alex Izion SAN who put up an intelligent objection before the court.
His defence saved the situation.
The justices wanted to strike the case out on the grounds that the Apex court do not entertain cases that never originated from trial courts.
However, with the brilliant disposition of Ekwunife's counsel, the Lordships adjourned the hearing indefinitely and asked that proceedings from the high court or tribunal should be transmitted to them before any further hearing date can be announced.
Meanwhile, on Abia state governorship appeals, the Supreme Court also adjourned to a later date to be communicated to the parties.
