Press Release : Nigeria's Economic Recession
Dear Constituents,

It is no longer news that the economy of our beloved country has been tumbled into recession.
According to National Bureau of Statistics, Figures available have shown that 4,580,602 Nigerians have lost their jobs since May 29,2015.

In this digital world of managing the economy with great ideas, this should call for sober reflections amongst the political and economic players in the country.

While,i won't rush to criticize the President but it will be foremost for him to act fast and salvage the situation because the bulk of revamping the economy lies in the hands of the number one citizen.

For that to be achieved, I strongly believe this administration should do more in championing their energy on sound economic policies that would take us to the promiseland rather than talking about the past that won't be witnessed again.

The regular statement always being circulated by this administration that "PDP ruined Nigeria for sixteen years" should be discarded because Nigerians are perceiving the usage as a clear sign of laziness, incompetence and awkwardness on the part of the Buhari's administration.

As for me, I can say it authoritatively that the statement brought us to this point, it created a platform for us to talk more about the past while ignoring the future.

In 1999, Obasanjo met a battered economy with a paltry sum of $3.7 billion in the coffers, then the price of crude oil was selling for $9, till date, there is no evidence on tape where he is complaining about his predecessors.

As a leader who once served as a military head of state like our current president, he used his past experiences to govern and revamp the economy within the shortest time

Even in the religious circles, we are always warned not to accept that we are broke in the time of difficulties but for a lucky president like Buhari that met a whopping sum of $30billion, he doesn't deserve to complain.

As a federal lawmaker and for the good interest of the nation, I will forever stand on the path of progress to salvage this situation if my input is needed at the appropriate time.

But in the main time, I will implore you all to remain steadfast and exercise a high level of financial discipline in order to survive during these tough times.

I feel your pains, nothing is impossible, we will surmount.

Hon Eniafe Tajudeen Obasa
Ojo Federal Constituency, Lagos.
