RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT UNVEILS 56TH NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE DAY PROGRAMME.

        
Rivers State Government has unveiled activities to mark the 56th National Independence Day Celebration in the state.
       
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr. Austin Tam-George,  said the activities would kick off today Friday the 23rd with a Juma't Service at the Nigerian Air Force Base Mosque in Port Harcourt.
         
Tam-George said Sunday, September 25 would feature an Inter-denominational Church Service at St. Cyprian's Church, Hospital Road, Port Harcourt.
         
According to the statement, Ozuoba-Rumuosi Road would be commissioned on Tuesday, September 27 while the Igwuruta-Chokocho Road would be commissioned on Wednesday, September 28.
        
The Commissioner stated that Kpobie-Bodo City Road would be flagged off on Thursday, September 29 while Abua-Degema Road would be flagged off on Friday, September 30.
         
Tam-George said that the reconstruction of the Bonny Waterside Jetty ,left in disrepair for years ,would be flagged off on Monday, October3 .
 
Activities for the celebration would be rounded off  with the commissioning of the Nigerian Bar Association Law Centre on Tuesday, October 4.

The Commissioner advised all motorists and road users to please take note of the scheduled events, and take alternative routes, adding that any inconvenience caused is regretted.

  He encouraged residents in the areas of the events to turn out in large numbers to give Governor Nyesom Wike  a rousing reception.
