ROAD RECLAMATION : Capt Iheanacho Goofed As His Fence Encroached On The Road

Recently, the defeated factional APGA Guber Candidate, Capt Emmanuel Iheanacho cried wolf and gave a false impression that his building was marked for demolition.

The truth of the matter is that the state government is reclaiming the Akwakuma/Amakohia Road for dualisation and no demolition of any sort is going on. Owners of Fences, kiosks, shanties and stores that encroached on the right of way were given due notice with the structures marked REMOVE by the Owerri Capital Development Authority in line with the Owerri Master Plan.

Its a trite that one cannot make omellet without breaking eggs, our people today celebrate Abuja as a beautiful city. They praised Ex Governor Fashola for reclaiming Oshodi without the realisation that people paid some price for it.

The state government means well for the people and has promised to give Ndi Imo a State they will be proud of and has assured all that those who have been affected by the road reclaimation will have their grievances addressed.

From the pictures attached, the fence of the Owerri residence of Iheanacho is several meters into the major road far beyond that of his neigbours. His fence was clearly marked REMOVE indicating and a notice sent to him to take it down himself before government agents move it.

It is embarrassing that Capt Iheanacho claimed his building was marked for "demolition" while it was his fence that is on the major road and should give way.  Instead of reaching out to the authorities, the eminent mariner resorted to crying wolf in the Press where non exists.
