Excellence in NECO: Fayose dedicates victory to Teachers, Education Stakeholders, promises to celebrate 2016 Teachers' Day in grand style
Ekiti State governor,  Mr. Ayodele Fayose has dedicated the success achieved by the state in the 2015/2016 National Examination Council result to teachers and education stakeholders in the state.
The governor made this known while playing host to education stakeholders who paid him a congratulatory visit at the government house on Tuesday.

Ekiti State came first in the year 2016 result released by NECO, moving  from the 10th position in 2015 to 1st in 2016, the state also came 11th in the 2016 result released by WAEC making her to occupy the  number one position in the south west.
Speaking during the visit,  the All Nigerian Conference of Principals'(ANCOPS) chairman,  Mr. Biodun Omotoso attributed the success achieved to education stakeholders' adherence to the resolution of the 2015 education summit. Mr. Omotoso who described Ekiti's movement from 10th in 2015 to 1st in 2016 as no mean feat commended the governor for doing away with those absurd policies of the Fayemi administration that made teachers underperform.
"Gone are those days of policy mistrust,  gone are those days of job insecurity where teachers sleep and wake up with the fear of losing their jobs. We now have a government that celebrate teachers, this has triggered teachers performance and it visible to all, we must do everything to sustain it", Omotoso said.
An education secretary,  Mr. Sunday Agunbiade in his comments described governor Fayose as a transformer, a man for a time like this,  a stabilizer and the best thing that ever happened to Ekiti State. He thanked Mr. Fayose for giving the education family the enabling environment as well as boosting teachers' morale.
Chairman of the School Based Management Committee, Chief Sylvester in his comments described the governor as a visionary, hard working and zealous leader. He eulogised the commissioner for education, Mr. Jide Egunjobi for his unrelenting effort at instilling discipline and ensuring  puntuality on the part of the teachers.
Warning that it is one thing to attain a feat and another sustain it, Chief Adeyanju stressed that the resolutions of the 2015 education summit be adhered to and implemented even beyond the Fayose administration.
Other speakers at the visit thanked the governor for restoring Ekiti's lost glory in the education sector,  they described the commissioner for education,  Mr. Jide Egunjobi as a round peg in round hole. They commended the styles adopted by the commissioner and urged the government and indeed all stakeholders to continue in that direction.
Governor Fayose while appreciating the stakeholders for their support said the feat achieved in the education sector is much more important than any other project embarked upon by his administration including Flyover and Oja Oba even though it cannot be seen with the naked eyes.
The governor used the occasion of the visit to reaffirm his commitment at celebrating teachers and making their welfare a priority.
"This feat is more important than any other thing,  I dedicate this success to our teachers and other education stakeholders,  handling teachers require tolerance.  We will continue to put teachers in the driver's seat, we will continue to celebrate them with pump and pageantry no matter what the economy says", Fayose said.
Assuring the gathering that his administration will pay the core and rural allowance as they celebrate teachers' day next month,  governor Fayose lamented the poor treatment meted out on teachers by previous administrations who reduced teachers to persons celebrated with CD and Cassette players as gifts to the best amongst them.
Mr. Fayose who assured the stakeholders of his support at sustaining the rare feat appreciated specially the state deputy governor,  Dr. Kolapo Olusola and the state commissioner for education, Mr. Jide Egunjobi.
