THIS TOO HAS PASSED...

To appreciate what people do to you is synonymous to appreciating God Almighty's Favours.

Today Friday September 30th, 2016 marks the end of my 2-year tenure as a Head of Department of Radiology. All Praises and Thanks are for God Almighty for seeing me through various levels of successes and challenges. I want to thank my mentors, teachers, senior colleagues, colleagues, my wonderful resident doctors, radiographers, darkroom and record staff, secretarial staff, security personnell, cleaners, and the rest of my dedicated staff in the Department who tirelessly worked with me through thick and thin in the last two years. They made Radiology Department the success it is.

I'm especially grateful and happy for all the recorded successes in the past two years in areas of patient care, teaching, and research. The 100% successes in PG medical exams in both Colleges and in both the parts 1 and 2 over the years; UMTH Radiography interns achieving the 1st positions in CT courses organized in the last two years by RRBN (2015 - Halima Konto Abba-Sulum, 2016 - Abdulrahman Adamu) wouldn't have been possible without the excellent efforts of my teachers and staff in the Department. I pray that these successes will be sustained throughout the next periods.

I want to specially thank my teacher, mentor and the Chief Medical Director of UMTH (Professor Abdurrahman A. Tahir), my teacher and Provost of the College of Medical Sciences (Professor Ahmed Ahidjo), my teachers Dr. (Mrs) Zainab Mustapha and Dr. Abubakar Farate for all the moments of teaching and mentoring.

I want to also thank my teachers, senior colleauges, and colleagues  from outside the Radiology Department of UMTH/UniMaid. I have also been adviced and assisted by people from the Community and outside the Teaching Hospital and the University throughout these years. I want to thank them all.

I thank the management of the University of Maiduguri (UniMaid) and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) for giving me this unique and rare opportunity to serve.

I succeeded because of God Almighty's Blessings and Mercies and because I was surrounded by successful people and where I had challenges these same people were there to see me through. I feel blessed by having these people around me. These people are great blessings from God Almighty.

May The Almighty God continue to give us the Knowledge, Wisdom, and Stamina to continue to do our best for patient care, teaching, and research.

Ameen.
