Today's bible teaching: Praise the LORD.Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in his commands to

Psalm 112

Praise the LORD.Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in his commands. 2 Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures forever. 4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous. 5 Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. 6 Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. 7 They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD. 8 Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes. 9 They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honor. 10 The wicked will see and be vexed, they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing

Today's praises: I will sextol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes trejoice over me

Psalm 30

Joy Comes with the Morning

30 A Psalm of David. A song at the dedication of rthe temple.

I will sextol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up

and have not let my foes trejoice over me.

Lord my God, I ucried to you for help,

and you have vhealed me.

  Lord, you have brought up my soul from wSheol;

you restored me to life from among those who xgo down to the pit.1

Sing praises to the Lord, O you yhis saints,

and zgive thanks to his holy name.2

aFor his anger is but for a moment,

and bhis favor is for a lifetime.3

cWeeping may tarry for the night,

but djoy comes with the morning.

As for me, I said in my eprosperity,

“I shall never be fmoved.”

  By your favor, O Lord,

you made my gmountain stand strong;

you hhid your face;

I was idismayed.

To you, O Lord, I cry,

and jto the Lord I plead for mercy:

“What profit is there in my death,4

if I go down to the pit?5

Will kthe dust praise you?

Will it tell of your faithfulness?

10  lHear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!

Lord, be my helper!”

 11  You have turned for me my mourning into mdancing;

you have loosed my sackcloth

and clothed me with gladness,

12  that my nglory may sing your praise and not be silent.

Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever

Today's prayer: Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me

Psalm 35
1
Psalm 35 Of David.
1
Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.
2
Take up shield and buckler; arise and come to my aid.
3
Brandish spear and javelin [1] against those who pursue me. Say to my soul, "I am your salvation."
4
May those who seek my life be disgraced and put to shame; may those who plot my ruin be turned back in dismay.
5
May they be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them away;
6
may their path be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them.
7
Since they hid their net for me without cause and without cause dug a pit for me,
8
may ruin overtake them by surprise-- may the net they hid entangle them, may they fall into the pit, to their ruin.
9
Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD and delight in his salvation.
10
My whole being will exclaim, "Who is like you, O LORD? You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them."
11
Ruthless witnesses come forward; they question me on things I know nothing about.
12
They repay me evil for good and leave my soul forlorn.
13
Yet when they were ill, I put on sackcloth and humbled myself with fasting. When my prayers returned to me unanswered,
14
I went about mourning as though for my friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother.
15
But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; attackers gathered against me when I was unaware. They slandered me without ceasing.
16
Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked [2] ; they gnashed their teeth at me.
17
O Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my life from their ravages, my precious life from these lions.
18
I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people I will praise you.
19
Let not those gloat over me who are my enemies without cause; let not those who hate me without reason maliciously wink the eye.
20
They do not speak peaceably, but devise false accusations against those who live quietly in the land.
21
They gape at me and say, "Aha! Aha! With our own eyes we have seen it."
22
O LORD, you have seen this; be not silent. Do not be far from me, O Lord.
23
Awake, and rise to my defense! Contend for me, my God and Lord.
24
Vindicate me in your righteousness, O LORD my God; do not let them gloat over me.
25
Do not let them think, "Aha, just what we wanted!" or say, "We have swallowed him up."
26
May all who gloat over my distress be put to shame and confusion; may all who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and disgrace.
27
May those who delight in my vindication shout for joy and gladness; may they always say, "The LORD be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant."
28
My tongue will speak of your righteousness and of your praises all day long.

Today's bible teaching: Press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus

*PRESS ON!*

*Philippians 3:14 - I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.*

For every prize, there is a bench mark - it is attainable via pressing on. It is not about how you start. It is about how you finish.

If we are going to press on, there are three things we need to do:
1. We need to look forward.
2. We need to be single-minded.
3. We need to keep eternity in view.
If you are conversant with sports, you will understand that you must look forward toward the goal, not behind you to see who is coming. You must keep your eyes on the prize.

Some people get stuck in the past. "Past glory syndrome" is one of the inhibitors that attack our spiritual growth. You conquered and won the battle yesterday is not a yardstick that you will still win today. What happened yesterday doesn't have to determine what happens tomorrow. Rise up to the real occasion of the day.

In this race of life, no eyeservice. Our eternal reward is the prize of high calling of God in Christ Jesus. We don't run this race to please the crowd or anyone, but to obtain the crown that Christ Himself will present to those who are faithful.

Life can be hard. Christianity can be a struggle. But the strength to go on comes from God. Giving up now is not the antidote to your present situation.

Beloved, we must see this through to the end. Whatever is the cost we must press on. No matter how hard it gets do not let go. Our lives belong to Him. Our prize is assured. Amen!

*Shalom!*

Today's bible teaching: Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take

Psalm 1

Blessed is the onea

who does not walkb in step with the wickedc

or stand in the wayd that sinners takee

or sitf in the company of mockers,g

but whose delighth is in the law of the Lord,i

and who meditatesj on his law day and night.

That person is like a treek planted by streamsl of water,m

which yields its fruitn in season

and whose leafo does not wither—

whatever they do prospers.p

Not so the wicked!

They are like chaffq

that the wind blows away.

Therefore the wicked will not standr in the judgment,s

nor sinners in the assemblyt of the righteous.

For the Lord watches overu the way of the righteous,

but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.v
