Today's bible teaching: Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord

The Lord Is My Light and My Salvation

27 Of David.

  The Lord is my hlight and my isalvation;

jwhom shall I fear?

The Lord is the stronghold1 of my life;

of whom shall I be afraid?

  When evildoers assail me

to keat up my flesh,

my adversaries and foes,

it is they who stumble and fall.

  lThough an army encamp against me,

my heart shall not fear;

though war arise against me,

yet2 I will be confident.

  mOne thing have I asked of the Lord,

that will I seek after:

that I may ndwell in the house of the Lord

all the days of my life,

to gaze upon othe beauty of the Lord

and to inquire3 in his temple.

  For he will phide me in his shelter

in the day of trouble;

he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;

he will qlift me high upon a rock.

  And now my rhead shall be lifted up

above my enemies all around me,

and I will offer in his tent

sacrifices with shouts of sjoy;

tI will sing and make melody to the Lord.

  uHear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;

be gracious to me and answer me!

  You have said, v“Seek4 my face.”

My heart says to you,

“Your face, Lord, do I seek.”5

  wHide not your face from me.

Turn not your servant away in anger,

O you who have been my help.

Cast me not off; forsake me not,

xO God of my salvation!

 10  For ymy father and my mother have forsaken me,

but the Lord will ztake me in.

 11  aTeach me your way, O Lord,

and lead me on ba level path

because of my enemies.

 12  cGive me not up to the will of my adversaries;

for dfalse witnesses have risen against me,

and they ebreathe out violence.

 13  I believe that I shall look6 upon fthe goodness of the Lord

in gthe land of the living!

 14  hWait for the Lord;

ibe strong, and let your heart take courage;

wait for the Lord

Today's bible teaching: But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people

*GOOD NEWS!*

*Luke 2:10 - But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.*

The world is filled with so much bad news. The world is in dire need of good news. No one likes to hear bad news. From the beginning, sin subjected man to a place of bad news which always leads to death.

Good news is the same word from which we get the word gospel. The gospel is the good news that God through Christ has provided for everybody. That gospel is Christ crucified - salvation from our sins. The good news is Jesus.

Jesus is the best good news the world would ever know. Jesus has come! There is fear all over the world today - The fear of unknown. Fear of COVID-19. Fear of what tomorrow may bring. Whatever is your fear, there is a good news for you. Jesus has come to bring joy to our hearts.

The good news came to banish fear. We do not have to be afraid. Jesus is the only greatest source of joy for the dying world. In Him our sins are forgiven. In Him we have peace of mind.

Beloved, fear not! You are marked for good news. It is settled!

*Shalom!*

let them bring me to your yholy hill

and to your zdwelling!

  Then I will go to the altar of God,

to God my exceeding joy,

and why are you in turmoil within me?

bHope in God; for I shall again praise him,

Today's bible teaching: My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth

Psalms 121:1-8 NIV

I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Today's prayer: Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men

Psalm 12

A Prayer for Help against the Wicked

12 1  Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men. 2  They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double [1] heart do they speak. 3  The Lord shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud [2] things: 4  Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us? 5  For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth [3] at him. 6  The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7  Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. 8  The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men [4] are exalted.

Today's praises: Shout for joy to God, all the earth!Sing the glory of his name;make his praise glorious

Psalm 66

1 Shout for joy to God, all the earth!z

2 Sing the glory of his name;a

make his praise glorious.b

Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!c

So great is your power

that your enemies cringed before you.

All the earth bows downe to you;

they sing praisef to you,

they sing the praises of your name.”a

Come and see what God has done,

his awesome deedsg for mankind!

He turned the sea into dry land,h

they passed throughi the waters on foot—

come, let us rejoicej in him.

He rules foreverk by his power,

his eyes watchl the nations—

let not the rebelliousm rise up against him.

Praisen our God, all peoples,

let the sound of his praise be heard;

he has preserved our liveso

and kept our feet from slipping.p

10 For you, God, testedq us;

you refined us like silver.r

11 You brought us into prisons

and laid burdenst on our backs.

12 You let people ride over our heads;u

we went through fire and water,

but you brought us to a place of abundance.v

13 I will come to your temple with burnt offeringsw

and fulfill my vowsx to you—

14 vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke

when I was in trouble.

15 I will sacrifice fat animals to you

and an offering of rams;

I will offer bulls and goats.y

16 Come and hear,z all you who fear God;

let me tella you what he has done for me.

17 I cried out to him with my mouth;

his praise was on my tongue.

18 If I had cherished sin in my heart,

the Lord would not have listened;b

19 but God has surely listened

and has heardc my prayer.

20 Praise be to God,

who has not rejectedd my prayer

or withheld his love from me!
