Today's prayer: Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer

Psalm 4
1
Psalm 4 For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David.
1
Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.
2
How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame [1] ? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods [2] ? Selah
3
Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him.
4
In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Selah
5
Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD.
6
Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?" Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD.
7
You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound.
8
I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety

Today's praises: Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises

Psalm 47
1
Psalm 47 For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.
1
Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.
2
How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth!
3
He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet.
4
He chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, whom he loved. Selah
5
God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the LORD amid the sounding of trumpets.
6
Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.
7
For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm [1] of praise.
8
God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.
9
The nobles of the nations assemble as the people of the God of Abraham, for the kings [2] of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.

Today's bible teaching: Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God

Psalm 20
1
Psalm 20 For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1
May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2
May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
3
May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. Selah
4
May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
5
We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.
6
Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand.
7
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
8
They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
9
O LORD, save the king! Answer [1] us when we call!

Today's bible teaching: Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance

Psalm 33
1
Psalm 33
1
Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
2
Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3
Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
4
For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
5
The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.
6
By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
7
He gathers the waters of the sea into jars [1] ; he puts the deep into storehouses.
8
Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.
9
For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
10
The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
11
But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
12
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
13
From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
14
from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth--
15
he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.
16
No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17
A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
19
to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
20
We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
21
In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name.
22
May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.

Today's bible teaching: Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

Psalm 31

A Profession of Trust

31 1  [1]In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness. 2  Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me. 3  Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me. 4  Keep me free from the trap that is set for me, for you are my refuge. 5  Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God. 6  I hate those who cling to worthless idols; as for me, I trust in the Lord7  I will be glad and rejoice in your love, for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul. 8  You have not given me into the hands of the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place.

9  Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and body with grief. 10  My life is consumed by anguish and my years by groaning; my strength fails because of my affliction,[2]and my bones grow weak. 11  Because of all my enemies, I am the utter contempt of my neighbors and an object of dread to my closest friends- those who see me on the street flee from me. 12  I am forgotten as though I were dead; I have become like broken pottery. 13  For I hear many whispering, "Terror on every side!" They conspire against me and plot to take my life. 14  But I trust in you, Lord; I say, "You are my God." 15  My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. 16  Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love. 17  Let me not be put to shame, Lord, for I have cried out to you; but let the wicked be put to shame and be silent in the realm of the dead. 18  Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous.

19  How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you. 20  In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues; you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues. 21  Praise be to the Lord, for he showed me the wonders of his love when I was in a city under siege. 22  In my alarm I said, "I am cut off from your sight!" Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help. 23  Love the Lord, all his faithful people! The Lord preserves those who are true to him, but the proud he pays back in full. 24  Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

Today's bible teaching: Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever

Psalm 125
1
Psalm 125 A song of ascents.
1
Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
2
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore.
3
The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, for then the righteous might use their hands to do evil.
4
Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart.
5
But those who turn to crooked ways the LORD will banish with the evildoers. Peace be upon Israel.

Psalm 29
1
Psalm 29 A psalm of David.
1
Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty ones, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
2
Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his [1] holiness.
3
The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
4
The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.
5
The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6
He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, Sirion [2] like a young wild ox.
7
The voice of the LORD strikes with flashes of lightning.
8
The voice of the LORD shakes the desert; the LORD shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9
The voice of the LORD twists the oaks [3] and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, "Glory!"

The LORD sits [4] enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever.
11
The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace
