Psalm 54

1: Psalm 54 For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A maskil ^[1] of David. When the Ziphites had gone to Saul and said, "Is not David hiding among us?"
1: Save me, O God, by your name; vindicate me by your might.
2: Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth.
3: Strangers are attacking me; ruthless men seek my life-- men without regard for God. Selah
4: Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.
5: Let evil recoil on those who slander me; in your faithfulness destroy them.
6: I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you; I will praise your name, O LORD, for it is good.
7: For he has delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.

Psalm 112

1: Psalm 112 ^[1]
1: Praise the LORD. ^[2] Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands.
2: His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3: Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.
4: Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. ^[3]
5: Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice.
6: Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever.
7: He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
8: His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.
9: He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever; his horn ^[4] will be lifted high in honor.
10: The wicked man will see and be vexed, he will gnash his teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

Psalm 6

1: O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath.
2: Be merciful to me, LORD, for I am faint; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are in agony.
3: My soul is in anguish. How long, O LORD, how long?
4: Turn, O LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love.
5: No one remembers you when he is dead. Who praises you from the grave ^[2] ?
6: I am worn out from groaning; all night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears.
7: My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes.
8: Away from me, all you who do evil, for the LORD has heard my weeping.
9: The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer.
10: All my enemies will be ashamed and dismayed; they will turn back in sudden disgrace.

Psalm 8

1: O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
2: From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise ^[2] because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
3: When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4: what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?
5: You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings ^[3] and crowned him with glory and honor.
6: You made him ruler over the works of your hands; you put everything under his feet:
7: all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field,
8: the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.
9: O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Psalm 4

1: Psalm 4 For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David.
1: Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.
2: How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame ^[1] ? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods ^[2] ? Selah
3: Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him.
4: In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Selah
5: Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD.
6: Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?" Let the light of your face shine upon us, O LORD.
7: You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound.
8: I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 5

1: Psalm 5 For the director of music. For flutes. A psalm of David.
1: Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my sighing.
2: Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
3: In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
4: You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell.
5: The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong.
6: You destroy those who tell lies; bloodthirsty and deceitful men the LORD abhors.
7: But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house; in reverence will I bow down toward your holy temple.
8: Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness because of my enemies-- make straight your way before me.
9: Not a word from their mouth can be trusted; their heart is filled with destruction. Their throat is an open grave; with their tongue they speak deceit.
10: Declare them guilty, O God! Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.
11: But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
12: For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

Psalm 134

1: Praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD who minister by night in the house of the LORD.
2: Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the LORD.
3: May the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion.
