Governor Samuel Ortom has approved One Hundred Million Naira loan from the N2billion domiciled with the Bank of Industries for disbursement to members of the Benue State chapter of the Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI).

The Governor, who gave the approval today during a courtesy call on him by members of the association at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi, also donated a pickup van to the association to enhance their mobility especially movement of products for trade fairs to Abuja and other States.

Governor Ortom directed the State Commissioners for Industries, Trade and Investments, Finance and Justice to liaise with NASSI leadership with a view to translating their requests and proposals into actionable plans for the overall interest of the State.

He described Micro, Small and Medium Scale industries as viable avenues through which the economic recovery of the country could be achieved, saying he was ready to partner with them in order to turn around the economic fortunes of the State.

The Governor charged Benue people to take advantage of the numerous business opportunities in the State and access the windows provided by the Bank of Industries, Bank of Agriculture as well as NEXIM and Central Banks to become entrepreneurs and contribute to the economic growth of the State.
