Shiite members took to the streets of Kano to celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed in an event called the Maulud procession.
The Shiites led by Mallam Sanusi Abdulkadir first gathered at Kabara from where they commenced their processing,going through Soron Dinki,Makwarari Jakara, and Kwanar Dala, da Gwammaja and Kofar Mazuma areas in Kano metropolis.
The procession according to Shiites is yearly and aimed to be a celebratory message of Maulud Nabiy, but this year's message is different because they are out to mourn the genocidal carnage perpetrated by the Nigerian Army against their member in Zaria.
