Power couple Amb. John Fashanu and Amb. Rachel Bakam are doing well as husband and wife. The two are doing so well together and are still as tight as Siamese twins.
The duo were conferred with chieftaincy titles recent even though absent at the Ofala festival from the Eze Okwe Kingdom and the Enugu State Government. This is geared towards bridging differences in Communities, celebrating selfless service to human development and for being friends of the community.
Amb. Chief John Fashanu was conferred with the title of Ofia-Afulu-Agu of Okwe Kingdom which means 'The forest that contains the Lion' and Amb. Chief Rachel Bakam was conferred with Ugo-Di-Namba of Okwe Kingdom which means 'Beautiful Eagle Queen from another Kingdom'.
Chief Rachel said....
"At first we were skeptical due to spiritual conotations but we discovered that this traditional community brings together Christians, Muslems and various tribes under one umbrella for the purpose of unity without any fetish acts. Thanks to HRH Crown Mayor of Nike - Igwe (Dr) Emmanuel O. Ugwu - Anyanwu N'awalu Oha 1 of Ibagwa Nike Enugu for this unique unifying vision. We will visit the Community soon and will be adorned with our Chieftancy regalia. We will also release pictures soon".
It should be recalled that the duo were each honoured with the prestigious Sir Tafawa Balewa Leadership Award in Kaduna not long ago.
