Earlier today armed robbery occurred at a jewellery story in the Phoenix, Durban area.
9 x suspects entered the store and assaulted the staff members. Suspects then fled towards their getaway car. An Off duty Saps member noticed the robbery and when the suspects fled he confronted them and a shootout occurred. Suspects fled the area with Saps members in hot pursuit. Private security companies assisted Saps members from Phoenix Saps and after a short chase and further shots being exchanged 6 x suspects were arrested, stolen jewellery and illegal weapons were arrested and seized. 3 suspects managed to escape. Excellent work by an off duty member as well as members on duty and pvt security!!
