Power Failure: Fashola Admits No Sufficient Power For Distribution

The Minister Of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola has revealed that the country's power situation will remain epileptic due to insufficient power distribution unless more turbines are activated to improve redistribution.

The former Governor Of Lagos also attributed the current drop in power supply to faulty turbines which are now being worked upon.

Fashola said: "Yesterday morning we had some outages in Jebba but I am happy to report now that all the four turbines that were down, three have been restored, so there is stability now.

"It is important why the power coming from Aba is defining, its part of what I've spoken about. There is not enough power in the country.

"So how do you share what is not enough such that everybody gets enough? Its difficult, if not impossible.

"So what we need to do is to get more power on. So about 200 megawatts coming from there is good news for the market,"

The Minister however expressed optimism that the Buhari led administration was still on course in its quest to achieve a 10,000 megawatts target. Fashola opines that if we overcome the problems caused by vandalism, we may well be on our way to stability.

"Everyone of us must contribute something now to solve the problem; it a problem we can solve. That will reduce the number of people who are contributing to being the problem.

"So those who are vandalizing electricity assets, those who are selling stolen cable, those who are not paying their bills and those diverting electricity are all problem.

Excited Female Fan Licks D’Banj’s Chest During Performance(Photos)

The much anticipated 3rd edition of the Heineken’s Gidi Fest took place some days ago and Nigerians were treated to thrilling performances by D’banj, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Phyno, Timaya, Adekunle Gold and a list of other A-list stars.
Fans also enjoyed the first ever ‘Takeover’, a unique music experience which allows them to take over from the music DJ using customized wristbands provided by Heineken Nigeria. During D’banj’s performance, a female fan was invited on stage as he and the band sang their rendition of O.T Genasis’ I’m in love with the Coco.

As the band sang on, the female fan was seen cleaning sweat off D’banj’s chest with a towel as the singer appeared to be enjoying the fan love. All of a sudden, the lady got carried away with the rare , sexy moment and proceeded to lick D’banj on his chest!

D’banj was clearly surprised by the lady’s action and told the band to stop singing saying, ‘That doesn’t happen every time.’
The lady shied away and hid her face as the crowd screamed but at least she got a one on one action with the Kokomaster.

Na love.

Ifeanyi Ubah Slaps Heartland Goalkeeper,Mikel’s brother Ebele Obi During A Match Between His Club & Heartland(Video)

Billionaire and entrepreneur Ifeanyi Ubah is in the spotlight for his role in the melee that erupted during a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match between his club,FC Ifeanyi Uba, and Heartland FC.
The LMC had on Wednesday sanctioned all parties involved, with Ifeanyi Ubah "charged for the encroachment of their supporters on the technical area immediately after the match against Heartland and acting in a manner capable of bringing the league to disrepute contrary to Rule 13.8 of the Rules and Framework".
The club was also sanctioned for failure to ensure "adequate security, crowd control and for granting access to unauthorized persons to restricted areas, contrary to Rule B13.52."

But the LMC has said it would review the sanctions earlier meted out against Ubah and Heartland goalkeeper, Ebele Obi, after a video showed more details of the roles played by the two actors.
The Nnewi-based FC Ifeanyi Ubah was accordingly fined N500, 000 on each of the two breaches and allowed 48 hours to appeal the ruling in writing or submit to the decision of the LMC.

Their chairman, Ifeanyi Ubah, merely got a slap on the wrist by the LMC for failing to show positive example by encroaching on the pitch and fueling the disturbances, while Heartland goalkeeper was banned from all NPFL activities and matches for six matches.
The video showed that Ubah actually slapped the Heartland goalkeeper, and the LMC is on the spot as Nigerians eagerly await the mogul's punishment.

See what Saraki was doing when other APC leaders were at the Tinubu colloquium (Photos)

As we reported earlier, the 7th colloquium in honour of the national leader of the All progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, held on Tuesday at the International Conference Centre in Abuja. Most of the top leaders of the APC were in attendance, including Pres. Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
However, senate president Bukola Saraki who does not see eye to eye with Tinubu, was absent at the event. It’s not like Saraki was being expected though. The senate president did not even extend the courtesy of a birthday message to Tinubu.
So what was Saraki up to at the time the colloquium which was dedicated to agriculture was going on? He was in his office hosting a parliamentary delegation from Colombia, which was led by Senator Edinson Delgado. According to a statement by his chief press secretary, Sanni Odogu, the senate president advocated for a closer collaboration between Nigeria and Colombia in order to improve diplomatic ties and enhance democratic governance in both countries.

He also said that the National Assembly is open to relationships with other advanced parliaments across the globe to broaden its legislative experience and knowledge of its lawmakers.
He noted that Nigeria and Colombia have a long standing relationship that need to be oiled and improved upon for mutual benefits just as he canvassed for strong investment in the Nigeria economy by Colombian investors.
He said; “We are happy that you are here. I believe your visit will further strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and Colombia.
“For many years, lots of opportunities have not been harnessed by both countries in spite of the fact that Nigeria and Colombia have a lot of things in common. Here in Nigeria, we have two chambers just like you have in Colombia.
“We are very identical, we must build this relationship and that is why I am encouraging this visit particularly at this period of diversification of our economy,” Saraki said.
The Senate President extended invitation to the parliament of Colombia for cooperation and exchange of programmes that would improve the quality of law making in both countries.
Earlier, the leader of the Colombian parliamentary delegation, Senator Edinson Delgado called for mutual cooperation between his country and Nigeria for mutual diplomatic and economic benefits.
Delgado said the team which comprised of Colombian businessmen and investors was in Nigeria on a three city tour of Lagos, Yola and Port Harcourt to foster partnerships and explore opportunities with a focus on commerce, industry and agriculture between both countries.
He promised to work hard to improve the economic and parliamentary relationship between Colombia and Nigeria.

“We are keen to strengthen our diplomatic relationship and establish basic opportunities between our two countries.” Delgado said.

‘Suicide Bomber’ Held In Cameroon Not Missing Chibok Schoolgirl — Parents

Parents from Chibok community in Borno State have denied a girl held by Cameroonian authorities, after an aborted suicide bombing mission, is one of 219 missing female students abducted by Boko Haram in 2014.

The girl had claimed she was one of the missing school girls, the Cameroonian government said.
The Murtala Muhammed Foundation, involved in efforts to identify the girl, said in a statement on Wednesday that three authorised representatives of the community confirmed the girl was not one the school girls kidnapped on April 14, 2014.
Read the group's statement signed by Aisha Muhammed-Oyebode, its chief executive.
"On Wednesday, March 30, three authorised representatives of the parents of the 219 missing Chibok girls arrived the Murtala Muhammed Foundation (MMF) offices from Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State to view photos of the girl claiming to be one of the 219 missing students kidnapped by Boko Haram.
"Mr. Yakubu Nkeki, chairman, Lawan Zana secretary, Mrs. Yana Galang women leader of the Chibok Girls Movement, all of whose children are amongst the kidnapped 219 Chibok girls were upon their arrival shown photos of the girl who was arrested along with another woman on Friday March 25th carrying explosives in Limani, Cameroon.
"A set of photographs had been sent to the MMF on the evening of Monday 28th of March by Garba Shehu, Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity. A more recent batch of photos, taken at 2pm on Tuesday 29th of March was sent to the MMF by Ambassador Hadiza Mustafa, Nigeria's High Commissioner to Cameroon.

"The earlier set of photos showed the girl partially clothed and squatting on the sandy floor within a low cement wall enclosure, which was surrounded by soldiers and some civilians. In that same batch, the woman was being carried in the arms of a soldier, with her face swollen and plaster covering different parts of her body. She was also partially clothed.
"In the more recent photos, however, the girl was fully clothed, standing against a wall and looking into the camera. The woman was also standing straight beside what appeared to be a hospital bed, she was fully-clothed. Her face still appeared slightly swollen with dressing on her forehead.
"The Nigerian government by Tuesday afternoon had already informed the MMF that the girl has clearly identified herself as Maryam Alhaji Wakeel, 12 years old, originally from Maiduguri but abducted from Bama when the town was overrun by Boko Haram a year ago. The woman has identified herself as Aishatu Usman, a 35-year-old mother of two children.
"However the identification process was still carried out to lay to rest any claims that the girl is one of the 219 girls kidnapped from their school in Chibok on April 14th 2014. Mr. Nkeki, Mallam Zana and Mrs. Galang have confirmed that the girl and the woman do not fit the description of any of the missing daughters from Chibok.
"We have also made arrangements for other stakeholders to view the photos at the MMF office in Abuja as we are yet to ascertain how the girl came to describe herself as one of the missing Chibok girls.
"The identity of the girl notwithstanding, the MMF has informed the Nigerian government of its willingness to continue to pursue the matter, and is willing to provide the captured girl and woman any support they may require.
"These girls and women are merely victims, and must be treated as such by the society. They have already undergone grave violence at the hands of their Boko Haram captors. We must ensure that they are not made to undergo additional violence at the hands of their compatriots.
"Nigerian government officials have informed the MMF that both Maryam Alhaji Wakeel and Aishatu Usman have been handed over to the Nigerian military this evening and are currently on their way back to Nigeria."

'How PDP Will Produce Next Senate President If Saraki Is Removed'-Delta Senator

CHAIRMAN, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, PDP, Delta North, said yesterday that if President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki, was removed from his present position by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, the opposition political party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would produce his successor.

Nwaoboshi, who noted that Saraki had been obeying the court, said until he was proven guilty, no amount of blackmail would make senators elected on the platform of PDP shift ground and support for him.

“In any case, my party, the PDP, has resolved in our meeting to support him. So, there is no basis for him to resign,” he said.

Nwaobashi, former Delta State chairman of PDP, who spoke with journalists in Abuja, yesterday, described the present trial of Saraki as purely political.

He said: “We only need three and we have it. The calculation is very clear to me. The calculation is very clear for PDP. We know what it will take us. When I told them that Saraki was going to win, I did a lot of mathematical calculations based on the facts on the ground and it is even clearer to me now that the PDP will win it.

“We will win it. If anybody is thinking that a PDP man is going to vote against a PDP candidate, he is telling you a lie. We have people and we know how to get the people from APC.

“We will win and that will be very interesting. What is happening in America is going to happen in Nigeria. America has a Republican Senate but the executive is led by Democrats. So, it’s happening in different parts of the world. I can tell you with what’s on the ground that we will produce the next Senate President.”

No amount of blackmail’ll make us shift ground

On whether Saraki should resign as Senate President, Nwaoboshi said: “I’m a lawyer, 27 years in the bar. He is not guilty. He has not been proven guilty. Let us first of all get to the point that he has been found guilty.

“The man has taken a plea of not guilty and the law is very clear. He’s deemed not to be guilty until it is proven. It’s a matter before the court. The prosecutor has the duty to prove his case before the onus will shift to him to defend.

“If the prosecutor doesn’t have a case, then what is he defending? Take the example of Ndudi Elumelu; that was how they removed him as Chairman of Power Committee because he was taken to court. In the end, he was cleared.

“Look at the former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara, he went to court. People were saying he is in court, that he should be removed. He resigned as a result of pressure from the public. He went to court and won.

“The other woman in the House of Representatives, former speaker, Patricia Etteh; in fact, the House changed its own position. But they had achieved what they wanted to achieve. There are so many examples like that.

“The man (Saraki) is going to court and he is obeying the court order. Until it is proven that he is guilty, no amount of blackmail will make us shift our ground and our support for him. In any case, my party, the PDP, we’ve resolved in our meeting to support him. So, there is no basis for him to resign.”

Asked whether Saraki should look at the soft landing option which looks like an olive branch, he said: “What is soft landing? There is no soft landing. The case is on. Are they going to withdraw the case? Let him go through the distance and let us see who is right.”

Saraki’s trial political

Senator Nwaoboshi, who noted that Senator Saraki’s trial was purely political, said: “You have seen it now. What is the intendment of an Act? Before he became a governor, he was supposed to make a declaration.’’

Shocking: Fayose Caims Chibok Girls Abduction Was Fabricated To Oust Jonathan

– Fayose accuses Buhari of deluding Nigerians over Chibok girls

– He claims that the abduction was a mere political fabrication

Ayo Fayose, the governor of Ekiti state, has claimed that the rumour of the abduction of the Chibok girls was mere political fabrication meant to oust ex-president Goodluck Jonathan from the office at all costs.

He has accused the federal government of deceiving Nigerians over the alleged missing schoolgirls, supposing that the All Progressives Congress used the situation to defeat Jonathan.

Fayose said he viewed with delight the advocacy of Oby Ezekwesili-led Bring Back Our Girls group, which has been pressing for the recovery of the missing girls.

“You can’t get what is not missing,” he stated.

Fayose, speaking in Ado Ekiti during a two-day workshop organized by Women Arise for Change Initiative, said: “The cries over missing girls were just a political strategy. What could Boko Haram have used to carry those girls? However, if truly missing, they should be recovered. One thing I know is that what is not missing you cannot get.”

“It pains me that some of the human rights activists had gone since the advent of President Muhammadu Buhari's government. They have lost their voices. Where were they when DSS invaded the Ekiti House of Assembly and arrested a lawmaker and locked him up?

“They were flouting court’s orders at will and victimising opposition. It is better we collectively speak up now or we are consumed.

“In some homes, men had cowed their wives and made them subservient. The wives have no rights to claim or defend. But before you can claim anything, the wives or female in general must be up to the task. You have to be intellectually and socially alert.

“Don’t just, because you are a woman, lose your voice. With this, women shall collectively regain what belongs to them”.

The girls were abducted in April, 2014 by the Boko Haram sect and had since been declared missing by the federal government.
When the Chibok girls were kidnapped, some key Jonathan supporters openly doubted the story, and believed it was part of a grand design by the north to bring down the Jonathan government.

Nigerian army recorded a huge success in the Boko Haram war, rescuing many people and resizing all territories from the insurgents. However, despite all the efforts, the Chibok girls remain missing.

Nigerian Air Force & Innoson Sign Agreement On Parts Procurement(Photos)

The agreement is aimed at ensuring adequate maintenance of the Air Force's air fleet.

It was announced by Air Vice Marshal James Gbum, who led a delegation of top senior officers of the Nigerian Air Force on a visit to Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, at the Governor's Lodge in Amawbia.
Air Vice Marshal Gbum said the present administration had heightened efforts to improve research and development and that an order by the Chief of Air Staff had brought about the discovery of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company.
With the agreement, the Nigerian Air Force hopes to surmount the challenge of searching for spare parts in several countries around the world which had led to the grounding of many of its aircraft.
The leader of the team said the automobile manufacturer passed the test of assisting in manufacturing brake assemblage haulage for activation of grounded aircraft which would in turn step up operation in the northeast against Boko Haram.
According to him, the collaboration will also encourage indigenous manufacturing.
At the Big Chamber of the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia, was an array of senior officers of the Nigerian Air Force led by the Air Vice Marshal who represented the Chief of Air Staff on a courtesy call on Governor Obiano.
At a meeting with the Governor, the Air Force official told Governor Obiano that Innoson would commence the manufacturing of spare parts for the numerous fleet of the Nigerian Air Force.
The Governor expressed pride that Anambra State had offered a solution to one of the problems of the country and assured the delegation that he would be ready to assist in any way to ensure that they got the best in their mission.
He also congratulated the management of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company for its competence and standard and urged the Nigerian Air Force to continue with the effort in containing insurgency, as the nation would always appreciate their contribution.
The Nigerian Air Force delegation presented a souvenir to the Governor and afterwards a group photograph was taken as a memoir of the unprecedented visit.
