Chelsea are in the race to sign FC Tokyo midfielder Yoshinori Muto.
This was disclosed by FC Tokyo's president who said Chelsea spotted the 22-yr old player on May last year and made a €5.5 approach in March.
Speaking on Chelsea's interest for the player,Tokyo chief Naoki Ogane said:
"It is true that Chelsea sent us an offer for Muto."
"It is a formal offer with conditions. They want to acquire him in the summer"
However, the player said he is yet to decide if he will move to Chelsea.
"I have not decided yet at all."
"It is an honour for me to receive this offer from a great club."
The player's move may be hampered by work permit as he has not played 75 per cent appearance for his national team in the last 2-yrs.
Chelsea are currently topping the table in EPL and are likely favourites to clinch the title with few games to go.
