A serious auto accident occurred today(yesterday) at about 4 pm on the Uyo stadium express road when a Julius Berger Hilux truck coming out of a side street rammed into a car belonging to the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), which obviously had right of way.
The impact of the accident was so much that it lifted the OGFZA car and threw it across the median onto the other side of the expressway where a bike rider was seriously injured in both legs. The man was immediately taken to hospital for treatment.
At the time of the accident the managing director of OGFZA, Mr Umana Okon Umana was in a meeting with the chairman of the Senate Committee on Trade and Investment, Senator Fatimat Raji Rasaki, in Abuja. When he was briefed on the accident after the meeting, Umana expressed his sympathy to the man who was injured and prayed for his speedy recovery, describing the incident as unfortunate.
