PUBLIC COMPLAINTS COMMISSION WORKERS SUSPEND STRIKE ON LABOUR MINISTER'S INTERVENSION
Following the intervention of the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Chris Ngige, the two weeks industrial action embarked upon by the Association of the Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria ( ASCSN) and the Nigeria Civil Service Union (NCSU) of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) has been called off .
Arising from the meeting summoned by the Honourable Minister in his office today, October 25, 2016, the unions agreed to suspend the on-going industrial action and return to work immediately.
The Chief Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission, Emmanuel Ogbile had attributed the cause of the industrial action to the non-payment of full salary to staff members as result of constraints on budgetary provisions. The Minister therefore assured that the matter was receiving due attention from the Federal Government and that payment of outstanding salaries to all the workers would be given top priority upon the release funds in no distant time.
